These are page one and page two of the letter from Nikon saying they
want to bring out the Messraster in their Nikon cameras.
These are unmanipulated scans of the actual letter with no OCR or any
other manipulation at all.
Jospeph Dahl decided to first deliver some Messrasters by himself,
before allowing the patent to be used by Nikon. The reason was to
first establish the precision necessary to make the Messraster's
accuracy possible and also to discuss what manufacturing tolerances
Nikon would use in their manufacture of the Messraster.
Mr. Dahl died just before he was able to manufacture the Messraster.
The only relative was a brother, who was an elderly clergyman, not
interested in the invention or worldly gain.
